Concert Series, Movies in the Park Kicking Off at Centennial Lakes

Things start tonight, June 1, with the Bend in the River Big Band playing at 7 p.m.

A pair of popular summer programs are starting back up this week, just in time for the warm summer weather.

This evening marks the beginning of 's Concert Season, with the Bend in the River Big Band kicking off at 7 p.m. at the Meatzold Amphitheater.

The musical extravaganza continues at noon tomorrow, June 2, when Rusty's Rockin' Jamboree presents a show geared toward children and the South of the River Community Band plays the amphitheater at 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 5.

The city's 2011 Movie in the Park program launches at sunset on June 2, when "Morning Glory" will be shown on the big screen of the amphitheater. The film is a romantic comedy set in the world of a morning television program starring Rachel McAdams, Harrison Ford, Diane Keaton, Patrick Wilson and Jeff Goldblum.

Should it rain, everything except for the Tuesday night concert and Movie in the Park will be moved inside to , 7700 York Ave. S.
