'Credible Threat' Forces Edina High, Valley View Middle Online Friday

An armed person made a threat on the Edina High School campus Thursday night, district officials said.

EDINA, MN — Classes at Edina High School and Valley View Middle School were moved to e-learning Friday after a "credible threat" was made Thursday night by an armed person on campus.

"Law enforcement officers were made aware of a person on campus (not inside the building) at the high school who had a weapon, made a credible threat and left campus," Edina Public Schools said in a statement to parents.

"Police have been investigating overnight and working on leads. Out of an abundance of caution, the district has made the decision to move Edina High School and Valley View Middle School to online learning while the investigation continues."
