  • An early morning fire was extinguished in the 4700 block of Wilford Way. The cause of the fire was traced to the area surrounding the fireplace. The homeowner had been burning wood in the fireplace for nine hours. Either the heat of the fire raised the temperature of the wood to its ignition temperature or a breach in the brick allowed embers to come in contact with the wood framing members and ignited them. Fire crews from Richfield, St. Louis Park and Eden Prairie departments assisted Edina crews.
  • 11 EMS runs.
  • A vehicle with an injured driver ended up in the 5500 block of Dewey Hill Road. Paramedic firefighters stabilized the victim in the car until it could be pulled from the water.
