Edina High School DECA Chapter Thrives at International Conference

The Hornets did well when pitted against hundreds of fellow students from throughout the world.

Edina High School's DECA chapter was recently honored with several successful finishes at the International Career Development Conference in California.

The trio of juniors Julia Barnett and LuLu Conner and senior Abby Spellman managed to bring home a second place finish in the conference's "Sports and Entertainment Promotion Plan" event. That particular event required students to test their marketing knowledge, develop a promotional plan for a drive-in movie theater and deliver a successful marketing presentation to judges in several rounds of competition.

Senior Jackson Walker also did well at the conference, placing in the top 10 in the "Sports and Entertainment Marketing Series" event, while junior Ben Kilberg earned a top test score in the "Quick Serve Restaurant Management" event. Fellow junior Emily Harris and seniors Liz Trautz and Liza Ware also competed at the conference.
