Due to the recent snow storm and icy road conditions, Edina Public Schools will be two hours late today, Friday, April 19. Buses will arrive two hours after the normal scheduled time. There will be no morning kindergarten classes and all morning Community Education, Early Childhood, Early Childhood Special Education and preschool programs are cancelled through noon. Afternoon activities will proceed as scheduled. There will also be no zero hour classes at the high school.

The decision for canceling school, whether while school is in session or before the school day begins, is made solely on the basis of student safety. The Superintendent considers many factors in coming to the decision, including the cause of the possible school closure, power failures and company response times, alternative resources or, in the case of weather, street conditions, snow removal at the school buildings, projected snowfall, temperature, wind conditions, time of day, traffic, and conditions in surrounding school districts.
