Edina School Goes Into Lockdown After Attempted Carjacking: Police

Valley View Middle School in Edina went into lockdown Wednesday morning after an attempted carjacking nearby, according to police.

EDINA, MN — Valley View Middle School in Edina went into lockdown Wednesday morning after an attempted carjacking, according to police. Five suspects were arrested.

Officers responded to the attempted carjacking near 70th Street and Antrim Road at about 10 a.m. The victim was able to drive away unharmed while the suspects fled on foot, authorities said.

Valley View Middle School was placed on lockdown "due to the proximity of the incident."

Minutes after they arrived, police located and took five suspects into custody.

The lockdown was lifted and there is no threat to the public, authorities said.
