Edina Twins Help Northwestern Secure 7th National Title
Brooke and Paige Jones were part of the NCAA champion women's lacrosse team.
When the Northwestern University women's lacrosse team won its seventh national title in only eight years, a pair of Edina natives were part of the action.
Paige and Brooke Jones—both freshman players for the Wildcats this season—were of the girls lacrosse team only last year.
After falling behind 4-2 early in the title game against Syracuse, the Wildcats rebounded to ultimately win the contest 8-6.

The Wildcats' seven NCAA titles is the second highest total for a university team, slightly behind Maryland's record-setting 10 between 1986 and 2010.
While the Jones sisters sadly didn't get a chance to rotate into the title game, they did get some play time during the regular season. Paige played for the first time in a 16-7 win at Louisville and also appeared in victories over William & Mary and UMass. As for Brooke, who battled Bridget Bianco for the backup role to goalie Brianne LoManto this season, she also debuted against Louisville and appeared in victories over William & Mary and UMass.
