Ice-Skating Season Ends In Edina Parks With Warmer Weather Coming
Almost 55,000 people skated at Edina parks since mid-December, officials said, thanking those who used the city's rinks.

EDINA, MN — Edina officials declared an end to ice-skating season Wednesday, with crews no longer able to maintain the city's outdoor rinks due to warmer weather in recent days.
“That’s the final buzzer. The outdoor skating season in Edina parks has come to an end,” officials said on the City of Edina Facebook page around 2:15 p.m. Wednesday.

The city planned to open a dozen of its outdoor rinks Dec. 13 but officials were forced to delay that due to warmer-than-expected weather in mid-December. Centennial Lakes Park opened in late December because its deep ponds required more time to freeze.
