Hennepin County libraries are presenting hundreds of free programs for children, teens, and adults this summer, including book clubs, storytimes, and programs offered in collaboration with community organizations and businesses, such as the Guthrie Theater, the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, MacPhail Center for Arts, the Bakken Museum, and Three Rivers Park District.

Summer Stories
Thursdays, June 7-21, 11-11:30 a.m. at Edina Library 
Preschool. Listen to stories and poems about summer fun.

Stories in French
Mondays, June 18-July 30 (except July 2), 4-4:30 p.m. at Edina Library 
Entering grades 1-4. French storytellers will tell stories and encourage interactive dialog in French. Children will be divided by age.

Edina Reads: Carmela Tursi Hobbins
Monday, June 18, 7-8:30 p.m. at Braemar Clubhouse, 6364 John Harris Dr., Edina 
Hobbins will talk about her new book, "Celebrations with Carmela's Cucina," her Italian immigrant heritage, the joy of cooking and family in her life. Books will be available for purchase and signing.

Master Gardener: Best Plants for Tough Sites
Tuesday, June 19, 6:30 p.m. at Edina Library 
Explore the best plants for 30 tough sites such as alkaline and clay soils. Also covers boulevard and rain gardens, shrubs for shade, deer-resistant plants and plants that will survive under a walnut tree. 
Presented in collaboration with Hennepin County Master Gardeners, University of Minnesota Extension.

Girls Only Book Club

MacPhail Center for Music: Sing, Play, Learn!
Thursdays, June 7 & 14, 10:30-11:15 a.m. at Southdale Library 
Registration required; began May 10; limit 20. Preschool. Hands-on musical play activities led by early childhood music specialists will let your family experience music’s impact on learning and reading readiness. Together you will sing, rhyme, read, move and create!

SCORE® Small Business Consultations
Mondays, June 11, July 9, Aug. 13; 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Southdale Library

Brodini Comedy Magic Show

Entering K-grade 5. Magician Graylyn Morris will raise spirits and test kids' powers of concentration as he manipulates ropes, scarves, balls and other magician's props in a perplexing "now-you-see-it, now-you-don't" performance!

Bring your list of prescriptions or your prescription bottles, Medicare, supplemental insurance, and/or Part D drug plan questions. Limit 1 or one couple per session.

Robot Clocks That Rock!
Monday, June 18, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Southdale Library 
Registration required; begins May 21; limit 10. Entering grades 7-10. Put all sorts of stuff together - pop cans, forks, tin boxes, wooden knobs - to build crazy robot clock sculptures! The only part of this robot that is not recycled is the clock itself. Make them as big or small as you want. Materials provided.

Art Out of the Box: Black and White and Read All Over

Registration required; begins May 29; limit 20. Entering grades 2-5. Artists can say a lot in just black and white. You'll investigate form and fiction found in sculpture from the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, then sculpt characters to tell your own stories. What story will your sculpture tell?

The RAD Zoo
