Only in Minnesota: Edina's Lacrosse Teams Shovel Snow from Fields
The Hornets cleared snow from both the Edina High School turf and Kuhlman Field ahead of Tuesday night games.
Add this one to the "Only in Minnesota" file: Edina High School's boys and girls lacrosse teams moved up and down the fields during practice Monday.
The catch? They were carrying snow shovels instead of lacrosse sticks.
The two varsity teams worked together Monday afternoon and evening to clear Kuhlman Field and the turf fields next to Edina High School before their 2013 seasons kicked off.

Girls Varsity Lacrosse Coach Chelsea Duke was incredibly proud of both teams for their dedication on a cold spring day.
"The boys and girls went out [Monday] afternoon and were done in two hours," Duke wrote in an email. "We did both the EHS and ECC turfs and split up the two programs to get it done. It was a huge effort by players and families and the season can go on thanks to everyone."

All of that snow shoveling must have been a good luck charm for the Hornets, as the girls toppled Holy Family Catholic 24-13, while the boys defeated Chaska/Chanhassen 17-4.
