Police Catch Same Man with Marijuana Two Days in a Row

Officers also arrested a 20-year-old Edina man who was found passed out in a stranger's driveway.

Friday, July 6

  • Police responded to the 6400 block of Maloney Avenue on a report of burglary. An unknown person entered a residence and stole a laptop, cash and two cell phones valued at $1,700 in total.
  • Police responded to the 400 block of Arthur Street on a report of an unknown person entering a garage and rummaging through a vehicle. Nothing was reported missing.
  • Police responded to the 400 block of Griffit Street on a report of attempted burglary. An unknown person forcibly attempted to enter a residence, but was unable to do so.
  • Police responded to on a report of assault. An out-of-control patient reportedly assaulted a security guard at the hospital. Nobody was arrested at the time.
  • Police responded to the 3100 block of 69th Street West on a report of theft. An unknown person forcibly entered a vehicle and stole a wallet and contents valued at $75.

  • A 20-year-old Hopkins man was arrested for possession of marijuana after his vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation at the intersection of Interlachen Boulevard and Bywood West. The same man was arrested the previous day for similar charges.
  • Police responded to Byerly's on a report of theft. An unknown person stole a bicycle valued at $510 from outside of the grocery store. Police report the bike was not locked up at the time of the theft.
  • Police responded to the 4300 block of Parklawn Avenue on a report of property damage. An unknown person put scratch marks in the paint of a victim's vehicle. 

Sunday, July 8

  • A 17-year-old boy was arrested for a curfew violation in the 5400 block of York Avenue South.
  • A 20-year-old Edina man was arrested for underage consumption after officers found him lying in a driveway near the intersection of Wooddale Avenue and Dunberry Lane. The man was subsequently placed under arrest for underage consumption.
  • Police responded to the 4900 block of Sunnyslope Road on a report of theft. An unknown person entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a backpack and contents valued at $160.
  • Police responded to Our Lady of Grace Church on a report of burglary. An unidentified man was seen stealing a video game system and several games valued at $731 in total. No arrest was made at the time.
  • Police responded to the 5600 block of Sherwood Avenue on a report of theft. An unknown person stole gift cards valued at $75 from an unlocked vehicle.
  • Police responded to the Good Earth Restaurant on a report of theft. An unknown person reportedly stole a $1,400 laptop after the victim inadvertently left it at the restaurant.
  • Police responded to the 5200 block of Interlachen Boulevard on a report of theft. An unknown person stole a wallet and contents valued at $276 after the victim inadvertently left it at the Holiday Gas Station.
  • A 47-year-old Minneapolis man was arrested for 4th degree DWI after his vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation on southbound Hwy. 100.
