TCF Bank Branch at 50th & France Robbed

A white male wearing a substantial amount of clothing reportedly escaped through the 51st Street parking ramp.

The branch at 50th & France was robbed Monday morning, July 9, according to police spokesperson Kaylin Martin.

A lone white male entered the Edina branch—located at 5018 France Ave. S—shortly after 10:14 a.m., and demanded money from bank employees, according to an FBI spokesperson. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the robber fled on foot from the bank.

Officials believe the robber used the public parking ramp off of West 51st Street to make his escape.

He is described as a white male, between 5-foot-6 inches and 5-foot-8-inches tall and weighing between 140 and 160 lbs. He was reportedly wearing a black wind breaker, black jacket, black gloves, black fedora hat, sunglasses, black scarf, tan pants and black shoes during the robbery.

Edina Police set up a perimeter around the bank and used a police K-9 to canvass the area for suspects, but could not locate the robber.

The robbery call reached the at 10:16 a.m., according to city officials. No injuries were reported.
