Teenage Girls Steal Nearly $1,300 in Clothing from Southdale Retailers

Police also responded a dog biting a mail carrier in the 5500 block of Halifax Lane.

Friday, Feb. 1

  • Police responded to the 5500 block of Halifax Lane on a report of an animal bite. A mail carrier reported being bitten by a dog, according to police.
  • Police responded to the Southdale YMCA on a report of property damage. A lock valued at $10 was reported damaged in the men's locker room.
  • Police responded to the Southdale YMCA on a report of theft. $83 in cash was taken from a wallet inside of a secured locker in the men's locker room.
  • Police responded to the Southdale YMCA on a report of theft. $225 in cash was taken from a wallet inside of a secured locker in the men's locker room.
  • Mary Elizabeth Robbins, 31, of Edina, was arrested for disorderly conduct in the 7100 block of Cahill Road.

  • Michael Thomas Gross, 29, of Minneapolis, was arrested for 4th degree DWI after his vehicle struck another vehicle near the intersection of Hwy. 62 and France Avenue.
  • Police responded to the 7500 block of York Avenue on a report of theft from auto. An unknown suspect forced their way into a vehicle and stole a GPS unit valued at $250.
  • Komol Khakimbekov, 41, of Mineapolis, was arrested for 3rd degree DWI after striking another vehicle near the intersection of Hwy. 62 and France Avenue.
  • Four teenage girls were cited for theft after being caught shoplifting merchandise from the Southdale Center JCPenney's. The girls—one 14-year-old, two 15-year-olds and one 16-year-old—allegedly attempted to steal $822 in clothing from the Edina store. The 14-year-old girl was also cited for giving a false name to police officers. 
  • David Michael Carringer, 47, of Bloomington, was arrested for assault in the 7100 block of York Avenue.
  • Four teenage girls were cited for theft and possessing stolen property after being caught shoplifting merchandise from Walgreen's and Super Target in Edina. The girls—one 14-year-old, two 15-year-olds and one 16-year-old—allegedly attempted to steal $475.72 in clothing from the two stores. 
  • Police responded to the Shell Station at 5101 Edina Industrial Boulevard on a report of gas theft. A customer filled their vehicle with $35.96 in gasoline, then left without paying for the gas. 

Sunday, Feb. 3

  • Police responded to the 5000 block of Eden Avenue on a report of theft from auto. An unknown suspect entered a vehicle by force and stole a duffel bag valued at $690 from inside.
