EDINA, MN — Edina looks set for some beautiful weather — and some thunderstorms — over the Memorial Day Weekend, according to the National Weather Service’s forecast.
Temperatures are expected to be in the 80s Saturday and Sunday, with a high of 91 degrees Monday, which is Memorial Day. But it’s not all good news for those planning Memorial Day cookouts and events, with rain and thunderstorms dotting the holiday weekend forecast for Edina.

The city is “likely” to see rain and thunderstorms Saturday morning, while there is a 20 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms Sunday and a 60 percent chance Sunday night into Monday, the NWS said.
Some of the storms Sunday night “could be severe” and include large hail and damaging winds, according to the NWS.

Storms could resume in Edina on Monday afternoon, when temperatures are forecast to reach up to 91 degrees in the city. Hail and damaging winds are also possible Monday night, the NWS said.

Showers and thunderstorms likely before 11 a.m., then a slight chance of showers between 11 a.m. and noon. Cloudy through mid-morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 86. South wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.
Saturday night
Partly cloudy, with a low around 66. Southeast wind 10 to 15 mph.
Sunday
A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 88. South southeast wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
