Vaccine Clinic To Pop Up Friday At Braemar Golf Course In Edina
Free COVID-19 vaccines and booster shots will be available to anyone over the age of 12, according to Edina officials.

EDINA, MN — Hundreds of residents can stop by Braemar Golf Course in Edina on Friday to receive their COVID-19 vaccines or booster shots.
City officials have partnered with Bloomington Public Health and Homeland Health Specialists to host a free vaccination clinic from 2-7 p.m. Friday at the golf course's clubhouse, 6364 John Harris Dr.
At least 200 appointments were made available for the clinic, with anyone over the age of 12 eligible to receive their first or second vaccine shot or a booster, according to city officials. The clinic is also expected to accept a limited number of walk-ins.

Officials said the city is hosting the clinic “because vaccination continues to be the single most effective tool to stop the spread of COVID-19.”

The Edina City Council adopted a resolution earlier this month that says residents, employees and others in the city are “requested and strongly encouraged” to mitigate the spread of the virus by wearing masks, maintaining social distance and getting vaccinated.
The council passed the resolution during a special meeting Jan. 7, when new COVID-19 cases were “occurring at a rate higher than at any time in the pandemic.”

The council also considered a potential citywide mask mandate before adopting the resolution.
“Residents, employees and guests in Edina are requested and strongly encouraged by the Edina City Council to take all reasonable protective actions, such as wearing appropriate face coverings, maintaining social distancing in public places, washing hands regularly and getting vaccinated, if possible,” the resolution states.
