Manny’s disappearance triggered an extensive search involving local, state, and federal agencies. Investigators interviewed multiple individuals, collected forensic evidence, and conducted ground searches near the area where he was last seen.

In June, the investigation expanded to the Elk River Landfill, where search operations resumed on June 18 after weather-related delays.

During the final weekend of June, authorities discovered remains later identified as Manny's.
