Wednesday's $229 Million Powerball Lottery Ticket Sold in Dakota County

The state's acting lottery director said the $229 million jackpot will be the state's largest winner.

Wednesday's record winning $229 million Powerball lottery ticket was sold in Dakota County, according to the the Minnesota State Lottery.

Jenny Canfield, the state's acting lottery director, said the $229 million jackpot will be the state's largest winner.

The state lottery should know later today where the ticket was sold, according Canfield.

Lottery officials say Wednesday's winner has the option of taking roughly $123 million in cash immediately, or about $84 million after taxes. If not, the jackpot is paid in installments over 30 years.

The winning numbers drawn Wednesday night are 11, 18, 36, 41, 46 and the Powerball is 38.
