Fire Damages Lakeville Home Over Weekend

Nobody was injured in blaze.

A Lakeville home was heavily damaged by a fire on Saturday, Feb. 12.

The home, located at 9935 161st St. W., in Lakeville, was evacuated and no injuries were reported, according to the Lakeville Fire Department.

Police first arrived on the scene around 9:50 p.m. and witnessed smoke coming from the residence, and the Lakeville Fire Department responded with three stations, three engines, one ladder truck, one rescue truck, and 36 total personnel.

The fire was extinguished but the home suffered heavy damage to the rear of the house and living room area, according to the fire department.

Crews remained on scene until 2:10 a.m. when the fire was out.

The fire is under investigation and residents are staying in temporary housing until the home can be repaired from the fire damage.

The two fire hydrants in the area were buried in the snow and needed to be dug out and the fire department reminded people to remember to dig out the fire hydrant near their homes.
