Minnesota State Fair: Friday Features MPR, Music On-A-Stick

Friday is MPR Day at the fair, and the public radio station will be broadcasting from the Carousel Park stage.

In addition, the rides at Mighty Midway and Kidway have a one-ticket discount until 1 p.m.

As for the evenings musical entertainment, The Current's Music On-a-Stick show at the grandstand starts at 5 p.m. and features Semisonic, Dessa and Jeremy Messersmith. Tickets are $35.

Getting to the fair from :

The Minnesota Transit Authority has teamed with the fair to offer express buses to the fair grounds from three South Metro locations:

Burnsville High School located at Hwy. 13 and Portland Ave. with hourly service on weekdays only.

Burnsville Transit Station located at Hwy. 13 and Nicollet Ave. with hourly service on weekdays; service every 30 minutes on weekends and Labor Day.

Eagan Transit Station located at Yankee Doodle and Pilot Knob Road at I-35E with service every 30 minutes on weekends and Labor Day.
