8 Maple Grove Schools Named On Latest COVID-19 Outbreak List
Ninety-nine Hennepin County schools were included on the Minnesota Department of Health's most recent list, seven more than last week.
MAPLE GROVE, MN — The number of Maple Grove schools included on the Minnesota Department of Health’s list of facilities with coronavirus outbreaks remained at eight Thursday.
Eleven Maple Grove schools were named on the first two lists of 2022, but three schools were removed Jan. 20, dropping the city’s total number of schools on the list to its lowest mark in months.

The eight Maple Grove schools named on the most recent list, published Thursday, are:
- Basswood Elementary
- Elm Creek Elementary
- Fernbrook Elementary
- Maple Grove Middle School
- Maple Grove Senior High
- Rice Lake Elementary
- Rush Creek Elementary
- Weaver Lake Elementary
All eight Maple Grove schools on Thursday's list are in the Osseo Area Schools district. Seven other schools in the district were also named on the most recent list.

Students in the district returned to in-person classes Monday after moving to remote learning for almost two weeks amid a spike in absences among students and staff. Some schools in the district had as much as a quarter of their staff members out sick during the first week of classes in 2022.
The COVID-19 data dashboard for Osseo Area Schools shows there have been 2,653 total coronavirus cases among students in the district since Sept. 7, including 342 cases from Jan. 18-24.

Officials also reported 103 new cases among staff from Jan. 18-24, taking that total to 608 cases since Sept. 7, the dashboard shows.
