Girl Scouts: Kayaking

Monday, Sept. 24, from 5-6:30 p.m., at French Regional Park, Plymouth. Spend an evening learning the basics of kayaking, including multiple paddle strokes and water safety with our knowledgeable instructors. Finish the lesson with a scenic paddle along the shoreline of Medicine Lake. All equipment provided. Cost is $12 and this program is for ages: 10-17. Activity number #425004-00.

Boy Scout and Venturers Rafting Adventures

Saturday, Sept. 29, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., at Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park, 10360 West River Road Brooklyn Park. Spend the day floating and paddling down the Mississippi River in an inflatable raft. Experienced naturalists will guide the way, with several stops to explore islands, sandbars and beaches. No paddling experience necessary. This adventure will cover many points of the Soil and Water Conservation Merit Badge. Wear water shoes, sunscreen and insect repellent. Bring a water bottle and a sack lunch. Shuttle service back to West Coon Rapids Dam provided.  Cost is $45 and this program is for ages: 12+. Activity #415404-01.
