Blaine Man, 26, Found Dead In Lake-Submerged Car

The car was found in West Twin Lake near Brainerd, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

PEQUOT LAKES, MN — A 26-year-old man from Blaine was found dead in a car that went into West Twin Lake near Brainerd, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Nicolas James Engen was driving a 2006 Ford Fusion southbound on Hwy 371 when it went off the road into the right ditch and rolled into West Twin Lake, authorities said.

However, the time of the crash is not confirmed.

"Nick was on his way to work early Sat morning and was in a single car accident and went down a embankment into a lake," Nick's father, Jim Engen, said on Facebook.

"It was overgrown so very hard to see. Linda Lucier Engen and I want to thank everyone for their love and support Nick was an amazing person and will be missed. Please if you love someone let them know life is precious and you never know!! RIP son we love you."
