Boy, 5, Fatally Shot As Kids Filmed Video On Thanksgiving: Police
A 13-year-old was arrested and is being held at the Hennepin County Juvenile Detention Center, Brooklyn Park police said Friday.
BROOKLYN PARK, MN — A 5-year-old boy was shot and killed Thursday in a Brooklyn Park home as several children were trying to film a video for social media, police said.
The Brooklyn Park Police Department said officers were called around 10:20 p.m. Thursday to a home on the 8000 block of Florida Avenue after a child was shot. Officers tried to save the boy, but he died in the home, police said Friday.
A group of children were making a social media video Thursday night when a 13-year-old fired a gun, hitting the younger child, police said.

The 13-year-old was arrested and is being held at the Hennepin County Juvenile Detention Center, police said, adding that preliminary information indicates the shooting was accidental.
Brooklyn Park police said around 12:30 p.m. Friday that they are still investigating the fatal shooting.
