Burnt Chicken Wings, Granite City Kitchen Fire: Maple Grove Fire Blotter
The Maple Grove Fire Department also responded to a heat incident from short-circuited wiring.

The following are incidents were responded to by the Maple Grove Fire Department from Feb. 25-March 3, 2013. Details provided by the fire department.
Feb. 25
- 6300 block of Ranchview Lane North. Smoke scare, odor of smoke.

- 15200 block of Elm Road. Strange odor/smell.
Feb. 28
- 8500 block of Underwood Lane N Arcing, shorted electrical equipment
March 2

- 7500 block of Berkshire Way North. Heat from short circuit (wiring) defective/worn. Resident called fire department to investigate smoke odor in home. Found apparent burned out motor in clothes washing machine. Checked for fire and unplugged washer.
- 17700 block of Elm Road. Smoke or odor removal.
- 12500 block of 94th Avenue North. Burnt Food. Burnt chicken wings in oven, alarms sounded and called 911. No alarms sounding when fire department arrived, windows had been opened for ventilation.
March 3
- 11900 block of Main Street North. Building fire - with sprinkler activation. Fire in kitchen area of Granite City restaurant. Fire was in gas fueled cooking device. Employees attempted to fight fire with several portable fire extinguishers before pulling Ansul system. Fire knocked down by fire extinguishers and Ansul system, but finally extinguished when cooking pans used to smother fire.
- 7600 block of Everest Lane North Strange odor/smell.
There were also four incidents of false or malfunctioning alarms.
