Construction Starts on New ALDI Grocery Store in Maple Grove

The store is being built on three acres of land in the northeast quadrant of Maple Grove Parkway and Grove Circle North.

More than a year after the city council approved a request by ALDI to build a new grocery store in Maple Grove, construction has started.

ALDI submitted plans during the summer of 2011 to build the 17,886 square foot store on three acres of land in the northeast quadrant of Maple Grove Parkway and Grove Circle North.

The new grocery store “is slated to open in Maple Grove in spring of 2013,” according to Matt Lilla, vice president of the ALDI Faribault Division

The proposed store will likely share an entryway with Cambria Suites, boast a new 81-stall parking lot and provide a pedestrian crosswalk from the shopping area to the current Maple Grove Parkway trail.

In addition to ALDI, a new Whole Foods Market anticipates a 2013 opening as well in Maple Grove.
