Cross County Ski Lessons in the Three Rivers Park District

From beginners to intermediate, a variety of cross county skiing lessons are available Jan. 26, 2013 to Feb. 9, 2013.

Classic Beginner I: Basics

Saturday, Jan. 26, from 10-11:30 a.m., at French Regional Park, Plymouth. This class covers cross-country skiing basics, including putting on equipment, falling down and getting up, diagonal stride, stopping, turning, and a brief introduction to small hills. For novice skiers and those who want to review. Reservations required. Cost is $18 or $28 with ski rental. This class is for ages 13+. Reference activity number #125188-04.

This class covers a more in-depth review of diagonal stride technique, increased control on hills, and an introduction to double-poling techniques. For anyone who has some classic skiing experience. Classic II: Intermediate

Saturday, Jan. 26, from 12:30-2 p.m., at Elm Creek Park Reserve, Maple Grove. This class covers a more in-depth review of diagonal stride technique, increased control on hills, and an introduction to double-poling techniques. For anyone who has some classic skiing experience. Saturday, Feb. 9, from 10-11:30 a.m., at Elm Creek Park Reserve, Maple Grove. This class offers an introduction to cross-country skiing through games and activities. Reservations are required. Cost is $12 or 18 with ski rental. This lesson is for ages 6-12. Reference activity number #122394-03.
