Elm Creek Winter Recreation Area Open Through March 17

Weather permitting, Three Rivers Park District plans on keeping the Elm Creek Winter Recreation Area open through March 17. 

The cross-country ski trail 2.5K snowmaking loop is groomed daily. The 5K lighted loop groomed depending on snow conditions. The outer trails closed. Rope tows will remain open. Bunny and lesson hills will be closed  

Here’s the schedule for the final week, according to the Three Rivers Park District website.

Schedule for March 11–17, 2013

Monday-Thursday:

• Noon to 8 p.m. Chalet open
• Cross country trails open regular hours
• Tubing, terrain park, rentals, and kitchen closed.

Friday

• Noon to 8 p.m. Chalet open
• Cross country trails open regular hours
• 3-8 p.m. terrain park open
• 4-8 p.m. tubing, rentals and kitchen open 

Saturday & Sunday

• 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Chalet open
• Cross country trails open regular hours
• Noon to 8 p.m. tubing and terrain park open
• 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. rentals and kitchen 

The Winter Recreation Area could close, according to Three Rivers Park District, if warm weather causes the terrain park features and tube lanes to be unsafe for use.
