Last Outdoor Maple Grove Farmers Market for 2012 Season

The last outdoor farmers market for 2012 will be 3-6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18 at the Maple Grove Community Center.

The outdoor Maple Grove Farmers Market will be held one last time Thursday, Oct. 18 at the Maple Grove Community Center.

Here's a look at a few things to expect at the last market for the 2012 season.

  • Treat or treating: Kids can dress up in costume and pick up a goodie bag at the market information trailer and visit vendor booths for treats, according to the recent market email newsletter.
  • In season: apples, pumpkins, squash, greens, lettuce, cabbage, kohlrabi, beets, carrots, cauliflower, potatoes, onions and more. Breads, baked goods, one bite cakes, pickled products along with other products continue to be available.
  • Absent from the market:  Ames Farm, Beck's Farm, Collegeville Bakery, Behren's BBQ, Da's Flowers, JQ Fruit, Pam's Pepper Jam, Stanley's Sugarbush, SweetWater Bath & Body, Thao Farms, Twisted Suri Alpaca Ranch. 

If you don't have a chance to visit the Oct. 18 market, the indoor Maple Grove Farmers Market season is just around the corner. Starting Nov. 1, the indoor farmers market will be held first and third Thursdays in November and December from 3-6 p.m. inside the Maple Grove Community Center.
