LeVahn Brothers in Maple Grove - 90 Years of Family-Owned Business

After 90 years, a family-owned business continues to build its loyal customer base in the community.

LeVahn Brothers Inc., located off of Bass Lake Road in Maple Grove, has passed through four generations  - first opening in 1923 by brothers Arthur, Ernie and Ed LeVahn.

The business first opened in the Camden neighborhood of Minneapolis – focusing on plumbing, the core focus of LeVahn Brothers. After moving twice, the family settled at its Maple Grove after buying Yes Hardware in 1995.

“Thank you so much for your loyalty and business throughout the years. It's because of customers like you that 90 years in business was reachable,” the business shared on its Facebook page in February.

Since the opening, the business was passed on the Arthur’s son, Robert, in the 1960’s. Robert then passed it onto his son, and current owner, Loren LeVahn.

Today, Loren and his son, Andrew, operates the business out of LeVahn Brothers Hardware Hank – providing both hardware and plumbing services.

Plumbing has been the core of LeVahn Brothers business since beginning. Hardware was only added in 1994.

“Very few stores in the Twin Cities area have all plumbing parts we do,” Andrew said.

Customer service is “key” for the family owned business, according to Andy, which has built a loyal customer base at its Bass Lake Center location.

“If we don’t have it, we’ll get it for you,” Andrew said.

For plumbing services, LeVahn Brothers does both commercial and residential work, including bathroom and kitchen remodels. There is a wide range of hardware products available. Customers can also rent dozens of items, including most large tools, lawn and garden items as well as party equipment.
