October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and there is an event happening at the end of the month that could make a big difference for men and women who have been victims of it. On Saturday, October 29, 2022, between 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. at the Maple Grove Barnes and Noble (8040 Wedgewood Lane, Maple Grove, MN 55369), Judith Brenner, author of “The Moments Between Dreams,” will be signing copies of her book, and participating in a discussion with Cheryl Kolb-Untinen, MS Prevention, Education and Clinical Services Program Director at Cornerstone MN. The organization supports women in crisis by connecting them with resources.
Beginning at 2 p.m., on October 29, they will discuss how the novel, set in the 1940s and 1950s, relates to today’s prevalence of domestic abuse, and explain how Cornerstone MN helps women in crisis.
Coincidentally, October is also Polio Awareness Month, which is also applicable for the story. The daughter of the protagonist has polio, which is one of the issues she and her husband fight over.
