Man Shot, Killed In Fight Between Drivers In Maple Grove: Police

Police said there is "no known ongoing threat to the community in this area" Sunday afternoon.

MAPLE GROVE, MN — A man died Sunday afternoon in Maple Grove after being shot during an “altercation between two motorists,” according to police.

Officers were called just before 3 p.m. Sunday to a fight near County Road 30 and Garland Lane, according to a statement from the Maple Grove Police Department. Witnesses there said a driver fired a gun toward another vehicle before both fled the area, according to police.

Police who were responding to the fight found a man suffering from a gunshot wound in a car nearby, according to the statement. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died Sunday afternoon, police said.

The Maple Grove Police Department said officers are investigating “several leads” and asked anyone who has information or saw the shooting to call Detective Wilson Maiers at 763-494-6246.

“There is no known ongoing threat to the community in this area,” Maple Grove police said.
