Maple Grove American Legion To Host '99 Flag' Ceremony Sunday
An American flag will be placed along County Road 81 for each of the 99 Minnesotans who died while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
MAPLE GROVE, MN — The Osseo/Maple Grove American Legion Post 172 is set to host an event Sunday evening to create a tribute to fallen veterans ahead of Memorial Day.
The American Legion post and its auxiliary unit are planning to place American flags along County Road 81 for each of the 99 Minnesotans who died while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

A commander will read the name of a fallen veteran as each flag is placed in the ground during “99 Flag Ceremony,” CCX Media reports.
The American Legion is seeking volunteers to create its “99 Flag Ceremony,” starting at 5 p.m. Sunday.
