Maple Grove Senior High Debaters Take Gold

Students Aditya Parikh and Aldrin Clement competed as a team in the Public Forum Debate.

Maple Grove Senior High students Aditya Parikh and Aldrin Clement took first place at the MSHSL State Debate Tournament in the Public Forum Debate last weekend. 

The Public Forum Debate is a team competition. The topic of the category was: "Resolved: Development assistance should be prioritized over military aid in the Sahel region of Africa.”

Jason Fotso made it to the final eight in the Lincoln-Douglas Debate. The topic for this year's Lincoln-Douglas Debate was: “Resolved: Developing countries should prioritize environmental protection over resource extraction when the two are in conflict.”

The 113th state debate tournament was hosted at the University of Minnesota on Jan. 17 and 18.
