Maple Grove Senior High to Host Boys Head Hockey Coach Stakeholders Interest Meetings

The meetings will take place Monday, March 11 and Wednesday, March 13 in the Maple Grove Senior High auditorium.

Less than two weeks after the Maple Grove Senior High boys hockey season came to an end, the school is asking for community input about the process of looking for a new head coach.

The Osseo School District confirmed at the end of February, long time coach Gary Stefano would not be returning for the 2013-2014 season. Although the school district declined to comment as to the reason for the change, Stefano told KARE11 the district “sent him a letter telling him his contract would not be renewed.”  The news came shortly after the MGSH boys 2012-2013 hockey season ended amidst news of reported player suspensions.

As of Monday, March 11, the following was shared on the Maple Grove Senior High school website:

We want your input as we start our search for a new boys head hockey coach!

Maple Grove Senior High School is committed to providing a high quality boys' hockey program for our players and our community, and we are soliciting stakeholder input as we begin the process of seeking a new boys head hockey coach for the 2013-2014 season.

We invite all interested parties to attend a stakeholders interest meeting where you will learn about the search process and have an opportunity to share your perspectives to help inform our work. Please choose either Monday, March 11 OR Wednesday, March 13; both meetings take place from 6-7:30pm in the MGSH Auditorium. We welcome all to participate!

In order to allow for input from as many different participants as possible, please attend only one meeting.
