Maple Grove Woman Killed In Garbage Truck Crash Identified

A woman died after her passenger vehicle collided with a garbage truck in Minnetonka on Monday.

Colleen Marie Lamberton, 78, died at North Memorial Hospital of "complications of multiple blunt force injuries due to vehicle collision," the Hennepin County Medical Examiner ruled.

MINNETONKA, MN — A Maple Grove woman was killed in a crash Monday involving a garbage truck in Minnetonka.

Colleen Marie Lamberton, 78, died at North Memorial Hospital of "complications of multiple blunt force injuries due to vehicle collision," the Hennepin County Medical Examiner announced Tuesday night.

Minnetonka police responded to the crash just after 3 p.m. on Plymouth Road at Arthur Street, north of Interstate 394.

At the scene, police found that a garbage truck had rolled on its side. Lamberto was the driver of a passenger vehicle. However, it's not yet clear what led up to the collision.

Lamberto was transported to the North Memorial Health Hospital with serious injuries. She died early that evening.

The garbage truck driver had minor injuries that did not require hospitalization, authorities said. Police continue to investigate the crash.
