Maple Grove’s Tom Windle Drafted by Los Angeles Dodgers

Windle is an Osseo Senior High graduate who pitched for the Minnesota Gophers.

During the Major League Baseball draft June 6, Maple Grove native and University of Minnesota left-handed pitcher Tom Windle was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Windle, an Osseo Senior High graduate, was picked 56th in the second round of the draft.

"It's an honor to be selected by any Major League team, but to be selected by the Dodgers that's pretty cool and I'm really excited right now," Windle said, according to GopherSports.com. “I'm just happy that they have given me this opportunity.

Windle has been the starting pitcher for the U of M the entire year and is the highest Gopher draft selection since Mike Kvasnicka in 2010.
