Officials Seek Residents’ Input On New Interchange In Maple Grove

MAPLE GROVE, MN — Officials are encouraging Maple Grove residents to share their thoughts about a project to rebuild the interchange between Highway 169 and County Road 130/Elm Creek Boulevard on the city's eastern border.

The project is meant to improve safety and traffic flows in that area, with the Minnesota Department of Transportation proposing to replace the current interchange with a “diverging diamond” interchange.

The proposal also calls for an expanded, separated trail for bicyclists and pedestrians along the south side of the corridor, as well as improved lighting and upgraded, ADA-compliant pedestrian crossings, officials said.

County Road 130 is known as Elm Creek Boulevard in Maple Grove and Brooklyn Boulevard in Brooklyn Park. Highway 169 serves as Maple Grove's southeastern border.
