Beginning Spinning with Drop Spindle

Learn to spin using an ancient tools — the drop spindle. On Saturday, Nov.17, from 1-4 p.m., at Gale Woods Farm, Minnetrista, Wendy Johnson of Saga Hills Design will teach a simple way to hand-spin. Meet Gale Woods sheep and use their processed wool. Cost includes all supplies including a drop spindle that you take home. Cost is $40 and reservations are required by November 13. Introduction to Lard

Just in time for holiday baking and cooking. Saturday, Nov. 17, from 2-4 p.m., at Gale Woods Farm, Minnetrista learn about lard, from rendering ground lard to using it in recipes in place of shortening and butter and learn about the health benefits as well as other uses. Samples to take home and hands-on cooking opportunities. Cost is $8 and reservations are required by November 15. Call 763-559-6700 to make a reservation and reference activity number #437411-02. Sheep to Mittens

Create a wearable felted project with wool from Gale Woods sheep. On Saturday, Nov. 17, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., at Gale Woods Farm, Minnetrista, you will meet the sheep, learn how to process wool, and make a pair of warm, durable, felted mittens.
