Osseo Girls Soccer Wins Over Maple Grove With Overtime Goal

Maple Grove was the No. 1 seed, Osseo No. 8 going into the Oct. 9 game.

In the first game of the girls soccer section 5AA tournament, #8 seed Osseo Senior High toppled #1 seed Maple Grove Senior High Oct. 9.

The game went into overtime play, with the Orioles coming out with the win 3-2 over the Crimson – and earning Osseo their second win of the 2012-2013 season.

Osseo started out the game strong with two first half goals – Maple Grove answering in the second half with two goals to send the game in to overtime.  Osseo’s Aimee Dahl goal past Maple Grove’s Casey Autey won the game for the Orioles.

News of the win traveled fast on social media, including the Osseo girls soccer Facebook page, which included video of the winning goal and team reaction.

Osseo will now move onto the semifinal game against Irondale High School 7 p.m. Oct. 11 at Irondale High School.
