Edina School Community Rallies Around Wife, Child Of Deputy Who Died
Donations are pouring in for the wife and child of a Ramsey County deputy who suddenly died this week.
RAMSEY COUNTY, MN — In less than 24 hours, nearly $14,000 has been raised for the young wife and child of a Ramsey County deputy who died this weekend, thanks to the efforts of the Edina High School community.
Authorities began looking for Dallas Edeburn when he never returned home following the end of his shift Sunday. Investigators searched the area between the Ramsey County Patrol Station in Arden Hills and Edeburn's home. They eventually found his car, and his body was inside.
A preliminary autopsy showed no signs of injury or trauma, authorities said, but the Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release the manner and cause of death when the full autopsy is complete.

Edeburn's wife, Jes, works as an English teacher at Edina High School. Her colleagues established a GoFundMe page for her.
"Jes is now facing the unimaginable: raising her son without her beloved husband by her side," the page reads.

"As Jes navigates this heartbreaking loss, we hope to relieve some of her anxiety about the future by raising funds for her and Bennett. Jes pours so much love into everything she does: marriage, motherhood, teaching, coaching, and being there for her family and friends. Please join us in showering her with love and giving her hope in this dark time."

"Yesterday was the worst day of my life," Jes shared on Facebook.
"My entire body, especially my heart, is aching, but the outpouring of support I've received proved I'm not the only one. Dallas was loved tremendously, and it's because he himself was larger than life. I adored that man. He loved me, Bennett, our families, and his friends so very, very dearly. I'm going to hold on to the people who love us knowing this will hurt worse before it ever gets easier. I love you, Dallas. Bennett loves you. With all our hearts."
"Our marriage was anything but normal," Jes noted. Shortly after their wedding, Edeburn was seriously injured in March 2021 when his squad car was struck by a stolen vehicle that was fleeing from Mounds View Police. His vehicle was completely burned as a result of the crash.
After the collision, "Dallas worked valiantly to rehab from his injuries and return to full-duty status. His commitment to his family, his partners, and the citizens of Ramsey County will never be forgotten," the sheriff's office said.
"Our hearts go out to Dallas' wife, family, and friends. He was larger than life, both in his physical presence and his service to Ramsey County," said Sheriff Bob Fletcher.
