Parking Gets Tight at Maple Grove Transit Station

Maple Grove Transit riders could see some tight times at the Maple Grove Transit Station next to the Shoppes at Arbor Lakes when University of Minnesota students return to class.

Throughout August, only 30 or 40 of the station’s 926 parking spaces have been vacant, the Star Tribune reported. The start of express bus Route 789 to the university Tuesday should draw 60 more riders.

The closure of the Parkway Station off Interstate 94 and Maple Grove Parkway has likely kept demand strong as some drivers started using the Maple Grove Transit Station instead. Parkway is supposed to re-open in November.
