Pedestrian Killed In Maple Grove Crash Identified

It's "unknown" if there was alcohol in the pedestrian's system at the time of the crash, authorities said.

MAPLE GROVE, MN — The Minnesota State Patrol identified the pedestrian killed on an interstate exit in Maple Grove last week.

Stephen Ernest Bloomdahl, 70, of Seattle, Washington was struck on an Interstate 94 exit on Thursday and died at the scene.

At about 5:15 a.m., a Toyota Highlander was taking the exit from westbound I-94 to Weaver Lake Parkway as Bloomdahl was crossing from the north to the south side of the ramp, authorities said.

The Toyota struck Bloomdahl, according to investigators. It's "unknown" if there was alcohol in Bloomdahl's system at the time of the crash, authorities said.
