Spire Federal Credit Union Closes in on Completing Construction

After breaking ground in July, construction quickly started on the new Spire Federal Credit Union building at 9580 Black Oaks Lane in Maple Grove.

The business is aiming for a possible opening after the first of the year followed by a grand opening in March 2013.  

“The outside of the branch is coming along beautifully,” Marketing Manager Tara Graff wrote in an email to Patch. “You can see the space where the new drive-thru will be located, and it's such a great location off of 94! Landscaping is being done this week, and inside the branch, the drop-ceiling is being hung and the sheetrocking process has begun.”

Plans for the 5,000 square-foot building were approved by the Maple Grove City Council in December 2011 along with an additional 1,800 square feet for a retail addition.

The new branch, located off of Interstate 94 near McDonalds, will replace the current location at 13619 Grove Drive and will feature a modern design and drive-up and include expanded hours and open 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.

Spire has 10 locations in Minnesota.
