Storm Drops 6 Inches of Snow On Maple Grove; More Coming Thursday

MAPLE GROVE, MN — Parts of Maple Grove were hit with a half-foot of snow earlier this week, and more is on the way, according to forecasts.

Snowfall totals from the National Weather Service show 6.6 inches of snow fell in eastern Maple Grove, while about 3 inches fell on the city’s western side.

Forecasts indicate snow is likely to return to Maple Grove on Thursday afternoon, though only about an inch is expected to accumulate. There is an 80 percent chance of precipitation Thursday in Maple Grove, according to the NWS.

Wind chill values could dip as low as 17 degrees below zero Thursday, the NWS said.

Maple Grove parking ordinances ban residents from parking on city streets after 2 inches or more of snow has fallen, though residents can park on plowed streets.
