Tornado Watch Issued Monday For Maple Grove Area
Strong storms could bring "a few tornadoes" and hail as large as a tennis ball to the Twin Cities region, the NWS said.
MAPLE GROVE, MN — The Maple Grove area will be under a tornado watch until 10 p.m. Monday, according to the National Weather Service.
The NWS issued the tornado watch Monday afternoon, warning that "a few tornadoes" were possible across the region, as well as hail as large as a tennis ball.
Wind gusts could also reach up to 70 mph Monday in the Twin Cities region and western Wisconsin, according to the organization.

A hazardous weather outlook is also in effect Monday for Hennepin County and much of Minnesota. Wind speeds could reach up to 50 mph in some areas covered by the hazardous weather outlook.
"Very warm and humid conditions will arrive midweek," the NWS said, adding heat indices are likely to reach 90 degrees Thursday.
