The beginning of 2013 brings two retirements to the Maple Grove Police Department. Sgt. Dan Barnier is retiring after 38 years in law enforcement. A farewell reception and to recognize is longtime commitment to law enforcement is scheduled 2-4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17 at the Maple Grove Government Center Emergency Operations Center. A program will be at 3 p.m. Officer Mike Helman is retiring as well from the Maple Grove Police Department. A farewell reception and to recognize his commitment to law enforcement is scheduled 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22 at the Maple Grove Government Center Emergency Operations Center.
