MAPLE GROVE, MN — The city of Maple Grove and the rest of Hennepin County will be under a winter storm watch starting Thursday. Between 6 to 12 inches of snow could fall in Maple Grove, according to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service.

"Travel could be very difficult. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility," the NWS said.

"The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes."

Wednesday: A chance of snow before 1pm, then a chance of drizzle and snow. Cloudy, with a high near 36. Southeast wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Wednesday Night: A 50 percent chance of snow. Cloudy, with a low around 29. East southeast wind 10 to 15 mph. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Thursday: Snow likely, mainly after noon. Patchy blowing snow between 2pm and 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 35. Breezy, with an east wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Thursday Night: Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Areas of blowing snow before 9pm. Low around 26. Blustery, with an east northeast wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible.
