1. A safety forum was held last night at the University of Minnesota after officials reported a 45 percent surge in off-campus crime. Both campus and city police attended, in addition to Mayor Jacob Frey. (CBS)
2. Several of Minnesota’s abortion restrictions were lifted this week after a Ramsey County judge ruled them unconstitutional. Lifted restrictions include the 24-hour waiting period and two-parent notification requirement. (Patch)

3. City Council member Michael Rainville is apologizing for “wrongly singling out Somali youth” in statements he made after eight people were shot in Minneapolis on July 4. Internet backlash was sparked when Rainville said he planned to visit "a mosque in northeast to meet with Somali elders and tell them their children can no longer have that kind of behavior." (Patch)
4. Monkeypox testing began this week at the Mayo Clinic as cases rise nationwide. Nine cases have been reported so far in Minnesota. (KARE11)
