1. A man shot this week by Minneapolis police has been identified as 20-year-old Andrew Tekle Sundberg. He was killed early Thursday morning after a six-hour standoff with police. Organizers are holding a vigil for him tomorrow, saying he was experiencing a “mental health crisis” at the time. (BMTN)

2. Four firefighters were hospitalized Thursday after extinguishing a fire in the 2200 block of Lyndale Avenue North. Three were experiencing heat exhaustion and a fourth was injured. (KARE11)

3. The BA.5 variant of COVID-19 was detected in 64 percent of the viral load in Twin Cities’ wastewater this week, the Star Tribune reports.
