1. The families of five women killed in a Minneapolis car crash earlier this month are seeking an independent investigation into the case. Driver Derrick John Thompson, 27, faces vehicular homicide charges on 10 counts. (Patch)

2. Former Minneapolis Police Department Chief Tony Bouza died Monday at age 94. According to CBS Minnesota, he served in the role from 1980 to 1989. (CBS)

3. Tuition will increase next year at the University of Minnesota's five campuses, KARE11 reports. Board members approved a budget with a 3.5 percent increase in the Twin Cities and Rochester. (KARE11)
